Edward Hertzman received a degree in economics from NYU. Then he spent over a decade working as a top executive for major sourcing companies worldwide, including Synergies Worldwide and Pearl Global. He has partnered with globally recognized retailers and wholesalers worldwide, with special expertise in Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, and China. In 2009, in response to a gaping need in the industry, he founded Sourcing Journal Online. With more than 100,000 subscribers, Sourcing Journal Online is the most prominent trade journal devoted to sourcing apparel and textile industry supply chains worldwide. He sold Sourcing Journal and its sister publications to Penske Media Group in 2017, remaining president of Sourcing Journal for another six years. In August of 2020, he also was promoted to manage all of Fairchild Media and its numerous publications. During that time, continued to consult widely on sourcing and supply chain matters, using his vast network of resources and unique industry vantage points to help brands and fashion retailers find the supply chain solutions they were seeking. Beginning in 2023, Edward Hertzman decided to leave his media duties behind and found Hertzman Global Ventures. Frustrated by the lack of industry progress, he’s convinced he can do more as an active industry participant, helping his clients implement next-generation supply chain solutions. Edward is a regular contributor to media outlets such as Bloomberg, Fast Company, Nasdaq, WSJ, NYT, and CNBC and speaks at industry conferences such as Shoptalk, NRF, Magic, Manifest, financial conferences TD’s Cowen’s Future of Consume Day and vendor days like Asmara and Synergies Worldwide. He also sits on the Leadership Board for Delivering Good, a charitable organization that channels the resources of the fashion industry to those in need.
